Secure Storage
Secure Storage is an Oregon Department of Agriculture program
that verifies a company is applying preventative measures
to reduce the possibility of contamination, bio-terrorism,
and unauthorized access to product when it is stored or transported.
The program includes:
- Doors and entrances where produce is stored is sealed
or locked.
- Transportation devices are sealed and the number
logged to be confirmed on the receiving end.
- Storages are identified and verified by an ODA
inspector to verify that those entering are logging
entry into the facility and resealing or locking doors
when leaving.
- Employees are trained to observe that the facility
is secure and identify any conditions that appear
suspicious.
- An ODA inspector verifies that all aspects of the
program are being implemented through routine audits
of paperwork and facilities.
